Monotype Ornaments Broadsheet No. 1 The Arabesque Framed Poster

Based on a layout originally produced by the Monotype Type Foundry in the 1930s, this is an re-issue from the 1970s by Monotype themselves. Part of a series of 5, these type ornament specimen posters are increasingly rare. They were designed to showcase the various different type 'ornaments' (the decorative bits) available from the foundry for printers to use for their Letterpress printing. This one features the particularly beautiful range of 'Arabesque' ornaments. While it was effectively a promotional item, it looks stunning in a beautiful wooden frame and mount. A must for any type or Letterpress fan.

Framed with a 40mm wide off white mount in a 19mm wooden frame with a dark walnut stained finish, supplied ready to hang.
